Platform China Contemporary Art Instituteis pleased to present the young artist Sun Xun’s latest art project Black Incantation in 798 Project Space.This is a animation spot process combine with opening exhibition which lasts two months. The animation spot process continues from March 01 to May 02, and opens to the audience on every Saturday since March 29 so that people can watch Sun Xun’s creation status and progress. The exhibition hall will formally open to the audience on May 03, 2008 and start a one-month-last display, showing Sun Xun’s newest animation Black Incantation and the installations left after his creation. The animation spot process plus exhibition is the second step of Sun Xun’s trilogy. The first step False has been displayed in the exhibition Yellow Box of Shanghai Biennale in 2006, the third step will be completed at HammerMuseum in Los Angeles of America during June to July in 2008.

It is a narration of ebb and flow about a coalindustrial city Fuxin. The artist call into question to history and right by recollecting the memories of the hometown.
In a mysterious dark city, storms wreak havoc with yellow sand. In the middle of the city, several huge buildings arise into the sky, emitting black smother to cover the sun. A sound of ismrang out and around the clock to chase away people’s various inquisitiveness and speculations about the world. This is a tremendous prison which boxed up our history, just like a violent, brutal,moody monster,someday people will cannot help driving the screaming excavator of Soviet Union to unripp the section of land brutally, gradually closer to the heart of the city…even the changes of history can be closely watching.
